COVID-19
- As of this morning, Westchester County has 4700 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Governor Cuomo announced the total number of positive cases in New York state is currently 30,811. This is 10 times more than any other state. The county hit the hardest is New York City with 17,856 confirmed cases. Westchester County is the 2nd county with the highest number of confirmed cases. Per Governor Cuomo, 50% of the total cases in the US are in New York state. He stated the rates of confirmed cases will double every 3 days.
- The White House Coronavirus Task Force(including Dr Andrew Fauci, Dr Debra Brix, Dr Jerome Adams) reported that they continue to be ‘deeply concerned’ with the New York Metro Area and mentioned that NYC is a ‘serious situation’. They stated that they realize there are those who want to get out of NYC and those who have left NYC maybe infected with the virus. 1 out of 1000 individuals are infected. If these individuals go to another place, they need to self isolate for 14 days.
- It is critical to follow the Presidential Guidelines: 15 Days to Slow the Spread
Our Plan
- HVPT will continue to monitor daily updates from Governor Coumo and recommendations from the White House Coronavirus Task Force
- Our physical office will be closed until it is safe to open again.
- For those of you who have current appointments, please consider them cancelled. As soon as we get word that we are safe to re-open, we will be reaching out to everyone via phone and email to get you re-scheduled as quickly as possible.
- Realistically, we estimate to be closed through the month of April. We will update you with any new information.
- Our virtual office is open. Physical Therapists, Zazu Cioce & Geri White, are available for telehealth physical therapy consultations and online wellness coaching classes. You can scheduled these sessions directly through our website: www.hudsonvalleypt.com
Free Virtual Workshops for You
- Zazu and Geri will be co-hosting a Zoom Meeting on Thursday, March 26 at 2pm.
- This will be a live Q&A session where they will address any questions that you may have regarding your condition or any pelvic health questions you may have.
- You can submit your questions via email to [email protected] or text to 914-357-3322 – we will make the questions anonymous and answer to the best of our ability or you can submit our questions in the chat bar during the Zoom meeting.
- Our guest will be Mary Vidal, a certified fitness trainer and yoga instructor. Mary has been teaching fitness to moms for over a decade. She will lead us through breath work and teach us ways to calm and relax the nervous system which will help with stress relief and decreasing anxiety. Something we all need during this time!
- On Friday, March 27 at 8:30 am, Karin Elias (she presented a Sound Bath workshop at our office a few months ago), invited us to her Morning Meditation session.
- A 10-20 minute meditation to help people deal with the stress many of us are experiencing these days.
- She writes: “This is audio only via Zoom. I cannot see anybody, which means you are safe in your PJs and with your hair standing in all directions – mine will certainly do that, especially as the hair studios are closed right now. All you have to do is find a comfortable place to sit, either on the floor, maybe on a cushion or on a chair with your feet touching the ground. Then just listen to my voice and start to relax. I am looking forward to connecting with you.”
- Join her Zoom Meeting – https://us04web.zoom.us/j/3902254995,
- Meeting ID: 390 225 4995
We plan on scheduling more virtual workshops to keep you connected, to continue to work on self care until we see you back at the office. We’ll announce this as our schedule is confirmed.
Also, be on the lookout for information about our Private Facebook Group where we will be posting self care and exercise videos as well as informational topics related to pelvic health and pregnancy/postpartum health. It will also serve as a safe, judgement-free space where you can interact with others and us.
