This series will consist of 4 weekly 60 minute virtual yoga classes that will include breathing techniques, visualization, and deep relaxation practices to connect you with your baby in an intimate and safe environment. This series is open to those that may be brand new to yoga as well as those that may already have an established practice. Studies have shown that practicing prenatal yoga may help reduce pelvic, leg, and low back pain, decrease symptoms of depression, stress, and anxiety, and can help to improve delivery time. We will take this special time together to move and honor our bodies, celebrating all the wonderful things it can accomplish. The poses, breathing, and visualization techniques we will practice during class will be able to translate into your daily life and you might even find them useful during your birthing and postpartum periods.
Included in the price of your yoga class will be a virtual consultation with Dr. Zazu Cioce, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified in Pregnancy & Postpartum PT, who will conduct a screening to determine if participating in the HVPT Pregnancy Friendly Yoga Class series is right for you.

Schedule:
January 9: Welcome to Prenatal Yoga, Level 1, Alignment and Comfort focused, Pelvic floor friendly
January 16: Continuation of week 1 PreNatal Yoga and including more balance and standing poses
January 23: Continuation of weeks 1 and 2, with increased focus on relieving common pregnancy related complaints such as round ligament pain, carpal tunnel, shin splints, back and hip pain, and pelvic discomfort
January 30: Prenatal Yoga with a Partner: in this class, we will include poses to do with a partner to improve communication and develop a supportive and fun ritual to do together.

Dr. Deana N. Caputo graduated in 2009 with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. She is a certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist, a certified yoga instructor through Westchester Yoga (CYT-200) and a prenatal yoga instructor through Yoga Haven. Born and raised in Astoria, Queens, she now lives in New Rochelle, NY with her husband, two year old daughter, and their 2 dogs – a yellow lab named Beastly and a mini dachshund named Frankie.
