Geri White
PT, DPT, WCS
Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Women’s Health Physical Therapy (WCS)
Recipient of NY APTA 2022 Physical Therapist of the Year Award
Geri is the owner and founder of Hudson Valley Physical Therapy. It was in 2004 when Geri had her “aha” moment after taking her first specialized training course in pelvic floor PT. She realized the pelvic floor was the missing link in her clients who were complaining of back pain, hip pain, tailbone pain, knee pain, ankle pain and even TMJ pain and dysfunction. Since then, her passion has been pelvic health physical therapy and the role other bodily systems play in her client’s current condition.
Geri often sees clients who have not gotten better with conventional physical therapy treatments. She is passionate about getting her patients symptom free, pain free and back to the life they want to live. She considers herself an integrative, holistic physical therapist. She looks at what else is going on in the body and how it is contributing to her client’s symptoms. She incorporates a variety of advanced manual therapy interventions into her treatment including but not limited to Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release and Visceral Manipulation. Geri has traveled to Europe and received training on advanced Visceral Manipulation techniques under Jean Pierre Barral DO, PT and Alain Corbier DO. Through The Barral Institute (https://www.barralinstitute.com), she has taken numerous advanced manual therapy courses that have included Visceral Manipulation series, Neural Manipulation series, Visceral Vascular Manipulation series, and Advanced Manual Articular Approach series.
Geri received specialized training in the evaluation and treatment of female and male pelvic floor muscle dysfunction through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Herman-Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute. She is an ABPTS (American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties) Board Certified Women’s Health Clinical Specialist in Women’s Health (WCS). She is one of the 61 physical therapists in the United States who were part of the inaugural group of Certified Women’s Health Clinical Specialists by the APTA. Geri is also a Guest Instructor, teaching an “Introduction to Pelvic Health Physical Therapy” class in the Doctor Physical Therapy program at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry.
Geri makes sure to add balance to her busy schedule by spending quality time with her husband, family, and friends. This includes travel, all types of outdoor actives, and baking — her specialty -chocolate chip cookies!
